The First Leg

Due to the lack of coffee shops with wi-fi we've come across (obviously, this isn't Portland!), we're playing catch-up with this post. What you'll see here are some highlights from the first few days of the trip, traveling from Grand Lake, through Santa Fe, and on to Sedona.

Our first stop: Denver. Here we are at the Capitol.

And here's Erika picking up the Capitol. A somewhat more artsy shot. This will be a theme in our photos (and with dubious success).

Traveling is hard work, but it can be beautiful. Almost every day we've brought the Portland rain with us, and it's a nice respite from the sun.

On the way to Santa Fe...

Later that night...

We'd only had one drink.

Cowgirl bar!

Santa Fe is the third-largest art producing city in the world. Tom is quite the art appreciator.

He is also a lover of bronze elk.

Tom's brother, Jake, recommended we eat at his old Santa Fe haunt. Delicious. Dangerous.

A video adventure of our first few days.

We arrived in Sedona, Arizona Friday afternoon and are visiting with Tom's Aunt Carrol and Uncle Mauro in red rock country. BEAUTIFUL. This is another artistic shot in which Tom is pouring a teapot in the direction of Erika's water bottle. It's abstract.

The Pandos have been wonderful to us. Thank you!
